Art has always been a part of my life…
My kindergarten teacher called my Mom one day and said to throw away the coloring books - your daughter needs to draw outside of the lines. That was the beginning of my journey.

I received my BFA from The University of Akron with a degree in graphic design. Early in my career, I worked as a designer for various advertising agencies ending up owning my own corporate communications company for eight years. Having recently retired as a newspaper executive running the online operations division, I decided it was time to fully embrace the artist in me!

When my “job” didn’t allow for my high demand for a creative outlet, I sought it elsewhere. During those years, my art and creativity found its own journey. I began taking glass blowing classes at a local studio where I began my love affair with glass. When the studio closed, I continued my glass works on a smaller level. I now work in the comfort of my own home in lamp working.

Original pieces of wearable art at affordable prices
My beads then needed a stage for their show and that’s when I began the ancient art of wire wrapping. I work with sterling silver or copper and love the way the metal forms and develops a patina as my hands work it.

All of my pieces are unique and one of a kind. I don’t believe in mass production just to sell something. There’s a little bit of me in each piece. Sometimes I spend more time thinking about it than the actual creation of it. I want my jewelry to be affordable and take that into consideration when I design each piece.

You’ll see many of my pieces that have wonderful beads, charms and coins that I have found either in my travels or in various bead shops and shows. I’m truly fascinated by the African trade beads, antique coins and vintage beads that have had their own journey. When I wear one of those bracelets, I ponder the journey and what story they could tell.

Although much of my work is self taught, I do grab every opportunity to take classes or workshops. Much of what I am is due to the artists who have taken the time to teach me. I hope my creations will resonate with you… I welcome your feedback and questions!

Life is an evolution as is art...
